The must see concert of the summer comes to Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre on July 25th. Snoop Dogg teams up with Stephen Marley and, San Diego’s own, Slightly Stoopid for a hip-hop/reggae show that undoubtedly satisfy fans all over San Diego. If you’ve never heard of Slightly Stoopid, it’s because the group chooses to avoid typical music media methods such as MTV and corporate radio, however, they have still managed gather a devoted fan club. Make sure you catch Snoop as he rocks Southern California this summer at an event which is says will be a “rippin’, rockin’, flippin’, floppin’, hippin’ and hoppin’ in a hood near you.”

San Diego hosts the US Open Sand Castle Competition this summer beginning on July 18th. Over 140 vendors will set up on Seacoast Drive by Imperial Beach this July in preparation for the nationally known event. With multiple divisions ranging from Childrens, to Amateurs, all the way to Masters, division contestants will be competing for a total of more than 21,000 dollars in cash prizes throughout the weekend. The masters division, split into both three and ten person teams, will build realistic, lifesize, sand sculptures. This free event is worth your time as these masters make art out of a new medium: viewing time ends at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

San Diego Blood Bank has assisted several local cases of children, teens, and adults with diseases such leukemia who need blood transfusions as part of their treatments. In addition, San Diego Blood Bank makes large donations such as sending 380 pints of blood to New York hospitals after the 2001 September 11th attacks.
